Louise England
Louise grew up in Australia but spent a year living here in Edmonton as a teenager. After many return visits, she immigrated to her ‘second home’ in 2003.

In Australia, Louise graduated from three universities including Australian Catholic University. Her studies in education included librarianship, music and religious education. Louise worked for many years in schools, public libraries and with the disabled. Her passion is helping youth discover the love of literature and learning. She currently works as a school library technician while undertaking more study to gain teacher certification in Alberta.

Louise became an active member of St. Thomas More parish in 2007 when she moved to the south side. As an adult ‘convert’ to Catholicism, she loves sharing in the faith journey of others. Consequently, she serves as a catechist and sponsor in the RCIA program receiving much inspiration from all participants!

Louise loves living in Canada. She also treasures her personal experience of how Catholics are connected the world over as the Body of Christ. In contrast to the cold winters, she appreciates the warmth of community at St. Thomas More. Although she misses her family of origin, she feels right at home with her Canadian ‘family’ and friends.

Cheryl Fisher
Cheryl Fisher was born and raised in South Africa. Growing up, she was an altar server and was involved in music ministry. Since moving to Canada with her family in 1999, Cheryl has been an active member of St. Thomas More Parish. She taught kindergarten-Grade 1 catechism classes for many years and has been involved in youth ministry, having attended World Youth Day in Toronto (2002) and Germany (2005). Cheryl has also been a sponsor and catechist for several years in the RCIA program which has greatly enriched her own faith. She currently serves as an Acolyte and Minister of Holy Communion.

Cheryl works as a Registered Dietitian at the University of Alberta Hospital, and is also a sessional instructor at the University of Alberta, teaching night classes to 4th year nutrition students. In her spare time, Cheryl enjoys cooking and experimenting with new recipes, ingredients and ethnic cuisines. She also loves travelling and being active outside, spending most of her free time on the trails, running and mountain biking.

Lucille Dendwick
Lucille was born and raised in St. Boniface, Manitoba with two brothers and three sisters in a very religious Canadian-french home and community.

She and her husband Frank married in l969, and moved to Edmonton in September,1970, where they became members of St. Thomas Parish.

Her great loves of her life are Frank, their daughter Michelle and her husband Andrew; their son Richard and his wife Lisa; five grandsons, and one granddaughter.

Lucille first started volunteering at the "old church on 114th Street" as a member of the Welcoming Committee, then the Baptism Ministry Team. She takes great pleasure in serving as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion and Lector, and also leads the weekly Pastoral Lay Ministry for the Sick and Shut-ins at a seniors' residence.

Addicted to doing crossword puzzles in pen, Lucille also enjoys plain knitting (cannot follow a pattern!), and would like to learn to crochet. Her favourite recipe is "Let's go out to eat!".

She is looking forward to her role as a member of the Parish Pastoral Council.
